the secret
This story is about life through thought and imagination. The secret seems to me as a state of mind or an emotion- and a way of finding yourself. The two girls will not tell the secret probably wanting others to find out for themselves. Almost as life is- nobody is there to walk you through it, you have to do it on your own.

I AGREE WITH YOU BUT AT THE END OF THE POEM SHE STATED THAT THEY TOO WOULD FORGET. THEY MAY HAVE FOUND IT AMUSING THAT SHE WAS THE ONE WHO WROTE AND DIDN'T KNOW BUT I DON'T THINK THEY WERE HOLDING OUT INFORMATION BECAUSE THEY WANTED THE OTHER TO FIND OUT ON THEIR OWN IT WAS BECAUSE THEY TO THEMSELVES DIDN'T REMEMBER AND MAKES THE DISCOVERY EVERY TIME THEY READ THE POEM.
